Museum of American Financial History
The nation's only independent public museum dedicated to celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship and the democratic free market tradition which has made New York City the financial capital of the world. Founded in 1988, the Museum was chartered as an educational institution. Today, financial education is at the core of the Museum?s mission and its public programs and services. The museum is the only one of its kind in America, displaying the actual stocks and bonds bought and sold on Wall Street, as well as other artifacts of securities industry history. Exhibits include rare examples of Colonial currency, railroad securities, a 100-dollar bond for the Republic of Texas issued in 1845, historic paintings and photographs of the financial district, and old stock tickers |
